| Your Journey |
Journey through thousands of years of history in lands settled since Neolithic times. Experience magnificent biblical landscapes, souks with unmatched treasure troves, and the archaeological remains of some of antiquity’s greatest monuments. Explore the grand ruins of Palmyra, Syria’s “oasis city”, and sites where Paul traveled in Antioch, Turkey. Travel from the vast splendor of Petra - the rock-cut Nabatean
archaeological wonder, to Ebla and Ugarit whose ancient archives revealed the world from which the Bible
emerged.
In addition to a wealth of important biblical sites, mosaic masterpieces, ancient cities and trade routes, castles,
churches, Greco-Roman ruins, and Crusader castles, Jordan and Syria offer some of the most breathtaking vistas
and desert landscapes to be had anywhere on Earth.
Join us for a medley of past and present that seeks to experience the beauty, and understand the history of these “Jewels of the Middle East”. |

Since childhood, Chahinda’s passion for Egyptology grew as she learned from her father, a prominent expert in the field. This inspiration culminated in a Masters from the American University in Cairo and a Doctorate from Cairo University.
For 14 years, Journeys of the Mind tour participants have called Chahinda the “Treasure of Egypt”. As your on-site lecturer and guide, Egypt comes alive as she integrates Egyptology with archaeology, art, history and culture; creating meaningful connections to all of the sights of Egypt. A delightful, personable and down-to-earth lecturer, she communicates her knowledge brilliantly as she inspires real learning.
“Dr. Karim is gifted in her knowledge and ability to blend the latest archaeological theories with the spirit of ancient Egypt. She inspires a deep appreciation for the grandeur and complexity of Egypt’s art and architecture, both past and present, and is uniquely educated and experienced to meet the intellectual demands of the discerning traveler.”
